Assists in investigating home conditions of children, evaluates children''s physical and psychological makeup, attends and reports in juvenile court proceedings, participates in committees and evaluates foster and adoptive homes. Performs initial screening and evaluation of adoption cases and prepares reports detailing screening and evaluation of assigned adoption cases.
Assists in recruiting foster and adoptive parents. Makes periodic visits on children in placement to evaluate conditions. Makes referrals for families and children to services in the community. Participates in investigations of abused and neglected children. Assists in preparing case reports and documentation. Makes recommendations to the court for a course of action. Coordinates referrals for clients. Provides transportation to clients for court or medical appointments. Assists Specialists by performing initial screening and evaluation of adoption cases. Prepares reports detailing screening and evaluation of assigned adoption cases for the use of the adoption unit and the courts. Other duties may be assigned.
Bachelor''s degree from 4-year college or university; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An individual should have knowledge of database software and word processing software. Must possess a valid driver''s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. A driver''s license is required to drive to the various work sites and travel to the homes of the clients, courts, visitations, doctors, therapists and other locations that become necessary to provide a total service delivery to the client. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
