Mig Aluminum Welder
JOB OBJECTIVE:
Welder performs a variety of welding functions.
The welder should be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment.
Will be welding aluminum shutters.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
oRead and interpret blueprints to determine specific welding requirementsoUse a welding machine to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specifiedoInspect welding machine, cables, and other welding equipmentoDetermine the weld needed, position, jig needed per weld specifications and material thicknessoManually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specific depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of puddle.
oDetermine which process should be used for moving raw materials or finished product in any given situationoExamine weld for bead size, brakes, or cracks, and make recommended repairsoClean and grinds excess weld, slag, or splatter oCleans, grinds, or degrease partsoOperates manlifts and cranesoOther duties as assigned/directed by supervisorKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
oHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredo6 months to 1 year experience as a welder of aluminumoAbility to pass weld testsoKnows and follows AWS D1.
1 standardsoCertified to operate crane and manliftsPandoLogic.
